THIS IS A POEM ABOUT LIGHTNING STORMS AND EARTHQUAKES AND THE COLOR OF THE UNIVERSE 9.10.17

9.10.17

It’s a strange day

in September.

The moon takes our picture

so it seems

the way lightening flares

up the sky.

People move with

caution. We don’t touch

metal objects, door handles

or fences, we don’t keep

coins in our pockets.

Rumors propagate,

Did you know lightning

strikes from the ground up

to the sky not from the sky

down to the ground?

Did you know

this is earthquake weather?

Soon the earth will eat itself

alive.

We know nothing of this

wondrous light,

yet we’d welcome its kiss

because then finally something

would change.

Until then

we watch in stupefaction

as twice a minute

the color of the universe

changes, and we

cower. We cower.

  1. Hmm it appears like your website ate my first comment (it was super long)
so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I as well am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing.
Do you have any suggestions for novice blog writers? I’d genuinely appreciate it.
