Fried chicken and sauce packet

All that’s left of love.

This Haiku is about a single moment I witnessed: a divorced couple sharing Jack in the Box chicken tenders by an outdoor fire. It was not beautiful or heartbreaking or any of the other supposed things it should have been. It was simply strange. Thirty years ago they were starting a family. Thirty years later they greet each other with handshakes and share separate chicken tenders with the same BBQ packet.
